*Note that you will not be able to see the below-mentioned guides and forum sections until you are a member.
Government, War, and Activity
-Our alliance is run by The Iron Council, which is a triumvirate composed of the below offices:Government, War, and Activity
Iron King: Sovereign and leader of The Ironborn.
Lord Castellan: Supervisor of the Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and Finance Departments.
Lord Captain: Commander of the War Department.
-The holders of these offices oversee the Jarls, or Ministers, who are the leaders of individual departments. The Jarls and The Iron Council work closely together to ensure that The Ironborn is striving for excellence in every facet of operation.
-You can find the holders of these offices in The Library sub-forum in the thread “Government of The Ironborn”.
-Do not declare war on another nation, whether one with an alliance or otherwise, without permission from the Lord Captain. Once you are a member, you will be assigned to a squad, which is led by a Commander. Again, do not declare war on any nations without approval from the Lord Captain. Any military-related questions can be directed to your Commander. For more information on how our military and Cybernations wars work, check The Academy for the War Guide (once you are a member).
-We have rules about activity. Our members are required to be active once-a-week, either in-game or on the forums. We understand that taxes are recommended to not be collected for twenty plus days, and that's why we have other standards of activity. Sending tech, checking the forums, paying bills, and others count towards activity. No visible presence without an explanation will warrant government action. Here is the passed Iron Council Resolution:
Resolved:
The Iron Council has resolved to require once-a-week activity from all members. At the end of a week, if a member is not active, they will be notified. If, at the end of two weeks and entering their third week of inactivity, they are not active and no reason has been given, they shall be removed from the alliance. Government officials, if they fall into the above circumstance, shall be asked to resign from office, but shall not be removed from the alliance.
Economics
-We are, as an alliance, on the Black Team. Make sure you are on the Black Team, so that when you are a part of a trade circle, you will receive trade bonuses for being on the same Team as the other members of the trade circle.-Once you are approved to join our membership, you will have the opportunity to get tech deals, which are very important to the growth of your nation. If you do not know how tech deals work, please consult The Academy and read the guide on Tech Deals. If you still have questions, direct your questions to the Jarl of Finance.
-Tech deals are to be paid on time. Unpaid tech deals will warrant government action.
-Once you are a member, you may request tech deals in the Kingsmoot. That is your means of getting them. It is on a demand-basis.
-If you have improvements for your nation, ensure that your first two improvements are a foreign ministry and harbor.
Conduct
-The Golden Rule, as a member of this alliance, will be important to follow on IRC, the Cybernations forums, these forums, and any forums/chatrooms associated with this game. The Golden rule is this: Never argue with other Ironborn in public, and never contradict any official who speaks on behalf of The Ironborn.
Culture
-Yes, we are based off of the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, which is the inspiration for Game of Thrones. That’s our theme, and we’re proud of it. The Ironborn in Game of Thrones are similar to Vikings, so we do enjoy alcohol and fighting as much as they do.
-We are ruled by a divine force known as The Drowned God. He’s a strong god, and we derive our strength from him.
-Our motto is as follows: What is dead may never die, but rises again, harder and stronger. This references the ritual of “Drowning” in The Ironborn culture. It’s a form of baptism that honors the Drowned God. Due to this motto, a common greeting between Ironborn is “What is dead may never die”.
-Our key tenets are as follows: brotherhood, strength, and bravery. As an Ironborn, you will be held to these characteristics. We are a brotherhood built off of these tenets, and we constantly strive to be brave and to be strong.
-The Old Way is the philosophy of the Ironborn. The Old Way is as follows: each man free to carve his destiny, each man loyal to his brothers, and each man loyal to his alliance. Not only does our government strive to protect The Old Way, but we, as a brotherhood, strive to protect those ideals.
-Once you are approved to join our brotherhood, you are encouraged to go to The Academy and read all the guides. Not only will your knowledge increase, but you will be a better player and a better Ironborn for it.
